Learning a Language

Learning a Language

Learning a New Language
Is a new birth, a new beginning
A new world, a new vision
A new possibility of what was yet
Being recreated.

A daring step at Sixty One,
But it feels like Twenty Three
Being in the world of the young
Making a beginning for a fresh start

Restarting all over with a lifetime behind
And a life yet ahead feels thrilling
A surrender to the new energy spurting
With resignation and resilience

Taking one day at a time
The location and the language, too
Matters in this case: Rome and Italian
Blessings seem to flow as from a Trevi
A Tiber and a Chiesa.
