In my doubt is my faith, in my faith is my doubt

The earth under my feet is sure

Yet it’s a thin crust of vapoury air amidst galaxies

In what is firm, there is a quantum gap

And within this space, all that is real

From within the structure, what is aligned

From without seems free-floating

What seems justifiable and condonable at once

Looks like an error and a free fall at another

Quiet in a self-chosen no man’s land

Disrupted by thoughts of ‘betrayal’ of one’s own

Yet this, too in the vast ocean of mercy

What is me, my vow, my order against His grace

In the Church and in the Rectory at home, quiet

Being in Him who is the author of it all.
