A place of great Beginnings
In Patagonia, the Argentinian
History of Conquests and Missions
Conquistador was the title
Of the life of a Missioner
In contrast to Bludgeons and Rifles
The location is kept alive in Memory
A fort, a church, a seminary, once
Of Formation for Salesian students
And a Museum that showcases
The contestants of the story
The clergy and the colonists
It looks like having been a surrender
Both being of the same nationality
A painful accompaniment of a people
Who trusted and entrusted becoming
Sidelined in geography and politics
In ownership of their land and being
Reduced to a Museum piece, well
Even there little left but for fauna
Time has flown, the place is no more
Of yore, vibrant with candidates
The college is still on, and the edifices
In tact, and a group of new actors,
Graduates of the Psychology department
Of the University Salesiano, Bahia Blanca
They have the recognition from the state
A new beginning in a new world order
This new ministry might yet again pave the way
For new victims of disparities yet to unfold
