The work of God unfolds

Everywhere and every time

Here in Hamilton, too,

An Opus Dei Centre, unveiled

A discovery of a pleasant kind

Spiritual search of the Old rekindled

Just a couple of men and occasionally

A woman, besides the Mother, whose work

Get done being there prominently

Over the tabernacle, protecting him as she

Did as depicted in the Triptych

Jose Maria Escriva’s Dream of empowering

The Church has travelled far from Spain to

New Zealand and a priest, and a few

Communities do nurture the faith of those

They care and those in need.

A university chaplain, a Doctor and a Lawyer

Do form the centre, and a unit of women

Elsewhere in the city, besides

Discovered on looking out

An opportunity to offer worship

The offer came to worship with and for them

In place of the University chapel

At a morning hour of dawn,

Setting the tone for an early day.

The Work of God is Opus Dei

Done in a morning walk and still moments

From hidden ways to quiet ways

His work survives, and He does work.
