Just as the fireball dips into the ocean
Sitting on the coral rocks
Not a creepy creature underneath
Yet the smell of the fishy waters wafts.
The clouds forming the haze
People, few and taking photos
Memories of the moment
A young pair with long hair holding hands
Another pair of sisters and cousins posing
The silhouette of their figures in front
Melding into the scene quietly
The waves do sound their gentle protest
For seemingly lack of attention
As the horizon grips everyone
With yellow and crimson
The airstrip just behind
A plane landing on the runway
Boats setting out for fishing
Others anchored for the evening
Swimmers on the other side
Learners with life rings and
More confident, daring out a little
The bay looks safe
Cakadrove of old history fame
A land so remote yet so much
In the centre of safety and
Sustainability
Time to wish bye
To this ocean land
That is entwined with my history.
