It is to see Him in Nature like a painting

Reminders of its Creator

In the Church where a thousand lives

Led, tossed, guided, confronted and elevated

Some, not, but His force and power at work

In and through the fledgling beliefs

Faith of his people

Visible yet only to those who dare look

In New Zealand for 2 months or more

A power impaling me and staying my course

Enabling a vista into a Soul, into a person,

Into a realm beyond the ritual and the social

The wagering of conscience that brings people

To Church: the serenity of the place, the devotion

Of the few and the commitment of the many

A church that suffered ravages of war and Covid

The faith, like the dawn and the sunset

Of the land, one can see it face to face.

The eyes opened to see the power at play.

As if this day, this week, this month

Arrayed in a wager, to choose;

Find Him on the way, being led

Back from running away

In search, yet knowing Him everywhere,

Being beckoned to pitch the tent

Where?
